Path:  Treasury > Reconcile Banking Transactions

Issue:  When your Ending Statement balance does not match you does not match your Reconciliation Balance and / or GL Vitals Balance.

First, make certain your starting and Ending statement balances are correctly entered from the bank statement.

In this example, the GL Vitals Ending Statement Balance matches the bank reconciliation’s Stmt Ending Balance.

However, The Reconciliation Vitals Ending Statement Balance is off and does not match the bank reconciliation’s Stmt Ending Balance.

To post this Reconciliation, both ending balances need to match the bank reconciliation’s Stmt Ending Balance.

Possible Solutions:  Issues causing the inconsistency could include one or more of the following.

  1. There is a transaction, payment or deposit unaccounted for in the system which posted to your bank account.
  2. There may be AP Payments, AR Payments or Banking Transactions batches that have not been posted.
  3. The GL sys-subsystem for AP Payments, AR Payments or Banking Transactions may not have been updated to create journals or there could be lingering un-posted journals which would not be a part of the GL Vitals tab figures.
  4. If none of the above are related to your out of balance issue, you can check each tab for any payment, deposit and transaction which may not have either a cleared or uncleared status.  Before posting a reconciliation, all records MUST have a cleared or uncleared status.  After you have selected an option for each record, click the refresh button on the menu ribbon.  Then check your ending balances again.

NOTE:  If the issue persists after verifying all of the above has been completed, try re-clearing / un-clearing all records where you have identified the incorrect data exists.

For instance, if you know you ending balance is a result of an un-cleared payment on the Payments tab, you should not only reselect un-cleared for this one payment but also re-unclear and re-clear all payments to refresh the totals on that tab which in turn should affect Rec Vitals and / or GL Vitals amounts.
